Summer Send-offs 2013

Each year, to welcome our new Bulldogs the Office of Alumni Relations and local alumni invite incoming students and their families to attend a party hosted their area. Each Summer Send-off provides a great way for new students to connect to other incoming students before the even leave home. Check in later to see the locations and sign up to attend.

The Centennial of the "R"

To commemorate 100 years of our collegiate letter, a group of 30 Kappa Sigma Sigma fraternity students hiked the mountain on May 5, 2013 to place 200 solar powered lights to illuminate the "R". During Alumni Founders Weekend the University celebrated its history and tradition. To wrap up the festivities; a group of alumni returned to remove the lights and restore the mountain to its natural state.

From the University to the web, Social Media Personal Trainer Leslie Saint McLellan of '81 handles marketing as a part of Tourism Currents. She helps to train individuals and businesses in social media marketing, spreading their reach across the internet.

With an eye for detail and art, alum Christopher Coppola has produced, written, and directed dozens of films. With a distaste for the exclusivity of Hollywood, he aims to expose his passion of art to the world, everywhere from Walmart to colleges and universities like our own.

With a major in both business and art, alum Jennifer Pryor of '05 rose to the occasion at William Reaves Art Gallery in Houston, Texas. With a plethora of extra-curricular activities under her belt, Jennifer has succeeded in her career, as well as her passion.
Gabriel Thompson
Gabriel Thompson
Gabriel Thompson graduated from Johnston College at the U of R and majored in History, Social Change, and the Radical Tradition. His next jobs involved cutting lettuce and working in a chicken factory, all to gain first-hand knowledge of the reality of labor in America for his book, Working in the Shadows.

Town & Gown

Once again, Town & Gown will help kick off the Bulldog football season at their first home game on September 7, with Rah, Rah, Redlands!  We’ll have a great time cheering on the team from the Bulldog end zone, starting at 4:30 on Saturday.  Tickets include admission to food trucks, kid zone, bounce house, entertainment, and of course, Bulldog football!
