"Theological Education: Challenging Tradition for 150 Years" Theological education at SFTS has always included turning a critical lens on the culture and events in the world around us that impact people’s lives and faith journeys. Join us for a lively conversation with a few of your favorite professors—both current faculty and faculty emeriti/ae: Herman Waetjen, Carol Robb, Warren Lee, and others! What are the issues that challenged them as they have sought to equip students for ministry? How has the seminary been transformed in response to the changing landscape? What are the challenges today and what does the future look like? You will be welcome to wander in when you sign up for the wine tasting hosted by SFTS alumna and U of R Trustee Jeannie Kim ’01 (M.Div.). Jeannie has partnered with Winefornia to create a private label for two fabulous wines in honor of the SFTS 150th year. Proceeds from the wine sales will directly benefit the students and programs of SFTS. Afternoon Worship Service 3:30 p.m. Stewart Chapel “Wade in the Water: A Celebration of 150 Years of Answering the Call” Curated by Jana Childers and Marcia McFee Saturday late afternoon we will come together for a worshipful and meaningful celebration within the beloved walls of Stewart Chapel. The Allen Temple Men’s Chorus and University of Redlands String Quartet will accompany our journey with scripture, prayer, and a special sermonic event of voices highlighting the waters of God’s call through which we have traversed and in which we are blessed. We’ll end at dusk at the labyrinth overlooking the hills and call on the cloud of witnesses who have gone before as we draw on the strength of their memory for the journey ahead.
