Andrew Smaltz '00 & Lindsay Gunderlock Smaltz '00

Andrew Smaltz '00 and Lindsay Gunderlock Smaltz '00 met during their undergraduate years at the University of Redlands in the late 1990s.

While at Redlands, Andrew was a member of Alpha Gamma Nu, played soccer and later was an intern at the Salzburg Global Seminar in Salzburg, Austria. Lindsay was a member of Beta Lambda, Spurs, ran track and was voted Homecoming Queen in their senior year. Andrew and Lindsay fell in love at Redlands. In fact, after sending Lindsay on a treasure hunt around campus, Andrew proposed to her in front of the Administration Building.

“While I was at Redlands, I felt people really cared about me,” said Andrew. “And Dr. Art Svenson’s government class changed my life. The engagement I felt in his class catapulted my GPA and encouraged me to never stop learning. I even double majored in business and government. We had so many opportunities and a fantastic Redlands experience that we don’t hesitate in giving back to our alma mater.”

Andrew and Lindsay are loyal leadership donors annually, providing support to current University of Redlands students. Andrew currently works as a director at RBS Asset Finance in Irvine & Houston and Lindsay works as a flight attendant with Southwest Airlines. The Smaltzes reside in Yorba Linda, CA with their son, Dylan, and daughter, Reagan.
